Nisarga Yoga: the Dancer IS the Dance

Nisarga Yoga is natural yoga; it is a way of being that is based on your True Nature.

It is founded on Spacious~Awareness as the inter~course of Concentration and Meditation and guided by the moral and ethical guidelines of Ashtanga Yoga. The practice is centered on your Breathing as the direct means whereby you align your body, breathing, senses and mind to be in union with the laws of natural order. It flowers as Oneness - a Breathing~Space.

It is not necessary for you to know either the laws of natural order or the moral and ethical guidelines before you can explore this direct approach as these are discovered in the practice. What you discover is that when you are aligned, you experience health, peace and harmony, and when you are misaligned or misguided you experience discord, disorder and disease.

The practice is most easily understood as a wave wherein the wave itself is living as the harmonious relationship of complementary extremes. The foundation wave of the practice is Breathing as the wave formed out of the inter~course of the waves of your respiration~circulation.

Your role in the practice is living the understanding that the Dancer IS the Dance as a dancer can only be by dancing (you are the dance and the dancer) - your understanding and the harmonious action that comes out of it is also a wave form as the inter~course of Concentration and Meditation.

The key terms of the practice of Nisarga Yoga are as follows:

Love is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent, Oneness. Love is Emotion - Spaciousness manifests through Awareness; Awareness manifests through Spaciousness. Love is Motion - it is Being as Awareness as Being; it is Understanding as Spaciousness. Thus the complementary partners of Love are/is Spacious~Awareness and the Oneness of Love is Being Understanding.

Love is Emotion - Love has Motion
Since they are both Love, it follows that
Each has some of the other: Emotion~Motion.
Love can be local or non-local: Motion~Emotion.

WAVE~WHEEL

BREATHING

Love expresses itself as wave-pairs that Breathe and Branch. It flows and flowers as its breathing branches and its branching breathes like wheels and waves; it flows from higher to lower and flowers from lower to higher. Its wheeling is flow~motion branching that breathes like Love as it reproduces through inter~course; its waving is flow~motion breathing that branches like Love as it replicates through inter~course (its branches branch). Its breathing waves and branching wheels form current~current.

BRANCHING

Inter~Course is the the living interaction of the complementary partners of Love - it is Relationship and all relationship is fundamentally Sexual. Inter~course is not a static event, rather it is the unfolding flow as a wave composed of extremes that arise and fall together (a wave is born and can only be through its motion; each extreme of a wave gives meaning to and 'causes' its complementary partner). Inter~Course as a wave is the whole (Love), yet the whole has no meaning without its parts - thus the whole is also a wave. In this way Love is the Substance of Relationship and Relationship is the Substance of Love and Inter~Course is its Living Heart.

Time is the description of motion; it is a way of measuring wave~flow.

Spaciousness is the Womb of Creation. It is the homeground of all expressions (this includes the entire uni~verse and its potential). All expressions come out of and are expressions of spaciousness as its emptyness is impregnated with Awareness (it is the nature of impregnated space to express itself; its expressions are the wave motion that scientists call energy).

Awareness is the Instrument that impregnates Space. Awareness Acts - it is the Unmoved Mover (the principle is: Energy flows where Awareness goes). Awareness is seeing in the most comprehensive sense of the word (Seeing is Being; Being is doing - more on this later). Awareness can be localized Space~Time as Concentration/Now or it can be non-localized Space~Time as Meditation/Deep Sleep.

Now is the centrepoint of time. It is the present moment as the living inter~course of past and future. Now is timeless; it is inter~course as the current moment and it is living as the unfolding current of inter~course. Now is the localized (concentration) portal to Spacious~Awareness as You are Now~Here (localized).

Deep Sleep is understood by its aftertaste. It appears to the localized you that awakens out of Deep Sleep as a complete absence or empty Space, yet it is clear there is no interruption to the continuity of your being because the localized form that arises is refreshed and recharged. In other words the actions of the non-local, timeless form of your being is what does the repair and restoration while your localized form is absent during Deep Sleep. Deep Sleep is the non-localized (meditation) portal to Spacious~Awareness as You are No~Where (non-localized).

You are Love. You are local and non-local. You are Current - like a socket and plug; you are neither the socket, nor the plug, you are the current of the union/inter~course of these complementary partners. The localized you is the evolved-current form that was/is born out of the inter~course of Spacious~Awareness (you learned to identify with and as your localized name and form through the repeated programming of your parents, relatives, teachers and society). You as a localized form are the same in kind as your Source/Love (Spacious~Awareness) that you came out of; yet you as a localized form are different in degree as your localization limits your being. When identification with and as the localized form of your being is relaxed, then there is an abiding in and as infinite~eternal Spacious~Awareness which is your non-localized form. The inter~course of these complementary forms of current being is You - this is never not the case.

Concentration is the extreme of seeing/Awareness that has a centre as a localized focusing of energy. In the practice this is inspiration and flow through your arteries as ‘Making it Happen’.

Concentration engages your mind as follows: you focus on how the flow of your breathing moves your body in predetermined ways as you feel your way; your sense doors provide the feedback of your bodily sensations and breathing as you explore the archetypical shapes of yoga; you discover the dynamic stillpoint of balance called a yoga pose by reconciling the three physical dimensions in the NOW (in the practice what scientists call the 4th dimension is called the Dimension of NOW). This localized Space called centre is the completion of one~wave~phase of your practice; NOW the role of your mind has been played and it relaxes.

Switchover here is the transition between Concentration and Meditation that is akin to the transition between your inspiration and your expiration and the pauses between your heartbeats.

Swithchover is accomplished by inhaling to fill out the shape you have created and exhaling to realize the more global connection with Breathing~Space (the global includes the local).

Meditation is the default extreme of seeing/Awareness that is present when concentration is relaxed. In the practice this is expiration and flow through your veins as ‘Letting it Happen’.

Meditation means relaxed whereby there is space yet alert whereby there is awareness. Your mind is spacious as it is completely relaxed yet the integrity of the pose and practice is maintained as the pose is held for a time; you actively do nothing; there is a non-local, global seeing wherein anything that is out of order stands out in the stillness of the pose; intelligent action unfolds naturally when there is this clarity in seeing (in other words it acts to realign anything that is out of order and you are simply ‘letting it happen’ - the same way that you allow the innate intelligence of your body~mind to regulate breathing when you are not consciously attending to it, or the rejuvenation that happens during Deep Sleep).  This is the completion of the other~wave~phase of your practice yet life has its continuity.

Switchover here is the transition between Meditation and Concentration that is akin to the transition between your expiration and your inspiration and the pauses between your heartbeats.

Switchover is transition space between wave~phase extremes. Each has some of the other in it as Concentration and Meditation are both forms of Seeing/Awareness. At this point your mind can be engaged again yet now it is in the right order as the instrument of your awareness; rather than the instrument of your ego that is exclusively interested in its own survival whereby it consumes enormous energy in defending itself and attacking anything that it feels threatened by.

It is easy for you to relate to the practice of Nisarga Yoga because it is as natural as Love. Love is infinite~eternal; there is no end to its beginning and it begins with giving.

It is Love as Spacious Awareness that gives and is the Substance of everything as it expresses itself by self-actualizing out of itself and self-organizes into form. It flows through form, flows through a period of decline, and flows out of form (an example is the harmonious inter~course of the fourfold wave of your respiration as inhalation~retention~exhalation~suspension and the fourfold wave of your circulation as arterial-flow~pause~venous-flow~pause).

Your exhalation and the thoughts you give off are examples of Love's giving. Your inhalation and the things you receive are described as being the opposite of your exhalation and giving, yet breathing and life are expressions of Love, and like Love, they represent a continuous flow in the direction called forward (endless beginning). In this way what is really happening in the self-organizing action of Love is that there are no opposites, there is only relationship whereby Love is attracted to itself as like attracts like and the Law of Love is that you get what you give. In other words the more Love (and exhalation) you give - the more you have to give (your inhalation naturally deepens when you deepen your exhalation; giving is a form of Spaciousness and as stated earlier Awareness manifests through Spaciousness).

The birth of a child is an example of the miracle of Oneness-Love; it is a powerful reminder that your localized form came out of sexual inter~course, and, your daily life reveals that your localized body~mind form is a manifestation of Spacious~Awareness.

You have also experienced the Spaciousness of the deeper seeing/Awareness of your non-local form that is essential in the practice of Nisarga Yoga. One experience of this deeper seeing happens when you have been blown away by something or some event - this is explosion; another experience is deep relaxation or Deep (dreamless) Sleep wherein the fuel that supports a localized ego centre is removed so that it collapses - this is implosion.

Breathing~Space IS Life and Life IS Breathing~Space. You can measure the quantity of your life by the number of breaths that you give-get; you can measure the quality of your life by that which takes your breath away.

“Form is Seeing and Seeing is Being.” ~ Atmananda Krishna Menon

The Flow and Flow~ering of Nisarga Yoga is Oneness
- it a Breathing~Space that is the means to Health, Wealth and Real Happiness.

The practice of Nisarga Yoga provides widespread practical benefits to your health and well-being. In addition you also experientially realize some deep truths as follows:

· There is no entity in the cosmos; ultimately there is no you or me; there is doing yet there is no doer; there is only form and function - being is doing; there is only Love;

· There is no outside; everything is inside you as Spacious~Awareness. Your mind~body is within you as Spacious~Awareness - this is your nearest environment (you can see your thoughts, feel your emotions and see your body, etc., because they are inside you as Spacious~Awareness). From the limited, localized perspective of a body~mind there is an inner world and an outer world;

· Not only are there no particles in the uni-verse, there are no objects whatsoever - again, there is only form and function; Particles/objects are Concentration as a localized formation of energy inter~course; functionally it is convenient to speak of particles and objects (name and form) yet the more global view as Meditation reveals that particles/objects are energy or flow in form (energy-in-formation);

· There is only NOW and DEEP SLEEP. Now is the concentrated form of Awareness; Deep Sleep is meditative form or the extreme that is when concentration is absent. The inter~course of Now~Deep Sleep is Living; it is current as the current moment and it is the unfolding current; there is evolution yet there is no future other than the mental construct that speaks of tomorrow (tomorrow never arrives - like the song says 'it's always a day away') - yet you can plan for a future because there is order as seen in the growth and development called evolution - the memories of the past and the projections of the future meet in the timeless present called NOW and all possibilities exist in potential in the infinite~eternal realm of DEEP SLEEP;

·  Your direct connection with the flow~motion current is Breathing as releasing and welcoming a quiet breath; Breathing anchors you in the NOW; Breathing's Spaces (transition pauses) open you to the timelessness akin to Deep Sleep; Breathing~Space IS Life - Life IS Breathing~Space (although I use terms like breath there is no such thing as breath other than the conceptualization of Breathing; similarly there is no such thing as life other than the conceptualization of Living);

· YOU are Love, the Ultimate Subject as Spacious~Awareness - all of what are called objects appear in you; being One with Spaciousness and Awareness means you are Spacious~Awareness and the universe is in you - this is Yoga (union); the Dancer IS the Dance - the Dance IS the Dancer.

· Once clear understanding is established then you as a centre (concentration) can be active again yet NOW you are in the correct order as a functional instrument that dances a particular role and retires (Deep Sleep) until needed again; this is your authentic being as compared to your ego as mistaken identity that is exclusively interested in its own survival and consumes enormous energy in defending its existence.

·  Breathing is commonly understood as respiration and it is much much more; the sages say ‘Know Thyself’ – Breathing~Space as the inter~course of Respiration~Circulation is the direct means for you to do that.

Nisarga Yoga is as simple as Breathing and it is as complicated as Life.
